Marty Burns Teaching Artist

Marty Burns grew up outside of Gallup, New Mexico and relocated to Chicago in 2001 to attend The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She holds a B.F.A. with an emphasis in Art History, Theory and Criticism and an M.F.A. in Fiber and Material Studies, both from the School. In 2009, she received the Artists Fellowship Award from the Illinois Arts Council. Marty is a part of the Chicago Artist’s Coalition’s Bolt Residency, which is also one of the 13 featured projects during Chicago Artists Month in October 2011.  She is a teaching artist at the Hyde Park Art Center and Marwen.
