Discover and create with other Marwen Students! Get a taste of all that Marwen has to offer while studying the basic tools and principles of visual art in a variety of disciplines. You'll experiment with drawing, sewing, sticker making, and stenciling. And you'll create a hand-sewn monster.

- SKETCHBOOK REMIX: INTRO TO ARTIST BOOKS

What good is a blank sketchbook? Join us to see how your books can document, collect, and tell a story! Make your own unique artist books that can be used as sketchbooks, journals, or works of art! We will explore scrolls, accordion books, Japanese 4-hole binding, and pamphlet stitch. You’ll learn basic folding, binding, and pasting techniques and fill your books with your own images, words, and experiences.

Explore the different types of graffiti and their messages. Our pieces will echo current themes on gentrification, urban planning, and public accountability. You’ll engage in various graffiti practices such as standard spray paint graffiti, reverse clean graffiti, chalk drawing, and stenciling.
