This course will introduce the process of composing and completing an oil painting from various visual perspectives. You’ll paint a cityscape or interior while learning how to work with daily changes (light, weather, and even objects) in your chosen composition.

This course will serve multiple purposes. First, you’ll learn to use both 35mm analog cameras and digital SLR cameras. Then you’ll learn to shoot as if you are working for a magazine, given daily assignments of images to capture.

Learn how to create hand-made paper using bark fibers, recycled papers, fruits and vegetables, even denim jeans. You’ll then create an organic sculptural structure from your hand-made paper.

Explore the infinite possibilities for making sculpture by using everyday materials such as wire hangers, packing tape, and tights. As you learn to model and assemble you’ll create your very own unique, “green friendly” sculptures.

Experiment with various techniques of acrylic painting as you explore what it means to paint cartoons. Using pre-existing cartoons or creating your own characters, you’ll animate your canvas with line, color, and layers of pictures while learning how other artists have used cartoons in their work.
