Learn various ways of transferring images onto other surfaces, as well as how to make a collage. You’ll create one-of-a-kind artwork from cut paper, photos, text, other collages, and transferred images.

Create sculpture from paper, chicken wire, and styrofoam, using both traditional and non-traditional methods. You’ll also learn printmaking and incorporate it into your final sculptural installation.

You’ll begin by exploring the designs of dinner service collections—the plates and bowls that you use to set the table— and then design your own! Learn to create bowls and plates on the potter’s wheel and make dinner service sets by hand.

Experiment with sewing, sticker design, and stop motion animation to create advertisements for a character as you work by yourself and with other students. Your final project will be creating stop motion animation using iMovie!

Ready to build your portfolio for college? This course for college-bound students gives you the tools and knowledge necessary to build a winning portfolio. Study portfolio foundations while developing conceptual and technical skills through a series of studio workshops: painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit colleges and meet professional artists who are accomplished in the field.

Our lives are full of opposites: good vs. bad, ocean vs. land, terrified vs. relaxed. In this course you’ll explore the concept of opposites as a theme in a diptych – a work of art that covers two canvases. You’ll look at many artists’ work for inspiration, and then you’ll experiment with new techniques and materials to create your final piece.
