Giving youth the power to succeed. Not a small task, but critical to the future of our young people and our society.

Fuel describes who we are, what we do, and how we implement our mission at Marwen. It reveals the essential characteristics of the educational model Marwen has developed over the years. To document our method, we asked education experts to interview students, observe programs, and write about what they learned. We also include demographic data about our students, descriptions of the studios in our facility, and answers to frequently asked questions about Marwen’s organizational structure.

For this opportunity, we thank The Wallace Foundation’s Leadership and Excellence in Arts Program (LEAP) for awarding us a multi-year grant to increase our visibility and to promote our method as a model for progressive arts instruction across the nation.

Fuel is a metaphor for strength, power, discipline, continuity, and perseverance. At Marwen, we are dedicated to providing teen-aged youth with the fuel that they need to dream, achieve, and succeed.
