Facility
When they enter our 15,000 square foot facility in downtown Chicago, students know immediately that this is a place that takes art education seriously. Designed in 2000 by Wheeler Kearns Architects, one of Chicago’s most celebrated architecture firms, Marwen was awarded the Excellence in Architecture Award by the American Institute of Architects, Chicago chapter. Our three-story building houses six specialized studios—including a fully-loaded technology lab, darkroom, and ceramics studio with kiln—to support our broad spectrum of courses. The art library is an excellent source for research and inspiration, while a college and career center offers the tools and resources necessary for future planning. Finally, our spacious student and alumni exhibition galleries display the work of our young artists year-round. Marwen hosts eight public exhibition openings each year.
