Try your hand at pencil, charcoal, India ink, water soluble paints, and markers. Build exciting compositions while discovering techniques for drawing, painting, and working with mixed media. Your final piece will be expressive and conceptual, strengthening your technical and creative thinking skills.

Explore the principles of video animation. Bring found objects to life. You’ll also learn the language of film and cinema while making your own short animation!

Learn to draw portraits on the fly! You’ll train at Marwen for one week, then move outside to lively city locations to create portraits of people from around Chicago. You’ll visit places all over the city and end the session with a finished portrait drawing for the summer term exhibition.

What is the relationship between advertising and teen identity? Use video, photography, and graphics to respond to social issues that have an impact on you and your peers. In addition to showing your work in the summer term exhibition, your art will also be published on www.culturespy.com.
