Learn to render realistically using acrylic paint and focusing on the selfportrait. Mix colors to achieve realistic skin tones. Learn proper care of painting supplies. And finally, paint a background behind your portrait, creating a unique, personal image of yourself and your surroundings!

It’s a pottery wheel throw down! Make pinch pots and throw three basic forms on the potter’s wheel (a cylinder, bowl, and a plate). You’ll also learn about pots from different cultures and times, expanding what you know about the wheel and the history of ceramics.

Make your own camera? Develop photos in a tent? In this blackand-white photography course, you’ll learn the history of pinhole photography, build two kinds of cameras, and develop your photos. You’ll also work on an artist’s statement to accompany your final photographs.

In this digital photography course, you’ll investigate mass-produced products: fast food wrappers, paper cups, cell phones, etc. For your final project, you’ll make your own statement using production, printing, and repetition of images. Previous camera experience is strongly recommended.

Curious about architecture? Experienced in architecture? Either way, this course is for you! Create a blue print and a clay model of a building design to understand how architecture moves from two dimensions to three. Previous drawing or sculptural experience recommended but not required.

Using the graphic styles of relief printmaking, create a poster reflecting your communities. Prepare to be challenged to make works that both celebrate and raise awareness of your life and surroundings. Your finished poster will be displayed in the summer exhibition and will also be ready to install in your neighborhood.
