The Illinois Education Foundation, (IEF) is partnering with Marwen holding five spots for Marwen seniors and alumni for a scholarship which offers full support through community college, transferring to a four-year university, and obtaining your Bachelor's Degree!

The Scholarship
The IEF Signature Scholarship combines “last-dollar” financial assistance along with a full set of academic support services-including mandatory mentoring, tutoring, and academic advising to empower more Illinois community college students to achieve their degrees and reach their full potential.
The Award
The IEF Signature Scholarship provides financial assistance in two ways. Through a “last-dollar” tuition assistance scholarship, which provides for any costs not covered by a student’s financial aid and through a need-based stipend of up to $750 per semester to use on any ancillary costs associated with school.
The Program
IEF Scholars benefit from financial, academic, and professional development opportunities including:
• a mentor and monthly professional development workshops
• intensive academic advising
• free one-on-one tutoring in any academic subject
• tuition assistance and a stipend to defray the cost of books, uniforms, and transportation
IEF Signature Scholars are eligible for a transfer scholarship, a partial scholarship to transfer from community college to a bachelor’s degree program at a public or private college/university in Illinois.
Minimum Eligibility
• H.S. Seniors, current community college students, or returning adult students enrolling/currently at one of the seven City Colleges of Chicago (Malcolm X, Richard J. Daley, Harold Washington, Olive-Harvey, Kennedy-King, Wright, or Truman), Prairie State College or South Suburban College
• Pursuing your first degree/certificate and be enrolled as a full-time student for the 2012-2013 academic year
• Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Highly motivated and committed to personal academic and professional success.
• U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents eligible for federal and state financial aid and should demonstrate proof of filing the FAFSA
