Teaching Artist
Nefertiti Abdulmalik aka SolAR* was raised on Chicago’s Northside and has always been drawn towards the arts and nature. Her current focus is to create works that illustrate nature and its interconnectedness while also inspiring humanity to look, listen, breathe and understand one another through the arts.
Nefertiti holds a BFA in Animation from DePaul University where she studied Animation Arts and Cinema. She is an award-winning animator (Best Animated Film, Gary International Film Festival) and her film Aqua Story has screened Interternationally, winning laurels at Animalcoi Film Festival (Spain) and Westfield Film Festival.
