Design to Print
Design to Print is an opportunity for young people (ages 16-18) to be hired as commissioned artists to create one-of-a-kind designs for Marwen’s greeting card line. Mel Cook-White (she/they) recently rejoined Marwen as a Faculty Teaching Artist working to support and build the META program. She previously worked with Marwen in 2017 as a studio facilitator and then became a teaching artist, teaching a range of painting and drawing classes including Marwen Lab until 2020. She developed programming and taught at a range of educational institutions including Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, Americorps, Chicago High School for The Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Northwestern University. Her passion is raising awareness about gender inequality through the arts in the hopes of making the world a better place for her daughter and future generations.
