Bring a colorful palette to life by making your own paint! Using familiar everyday materials like eyeshadow, vegetables, and eggs, make your own watercolors and tempera paint ready for any adventure. Be ready to paint anything and everything under the sun, from still life to portraits to landscapes.

Teaching Artist
Mel Cook-White (she/they) recently rejoined Marwen as a Faculty Teaching Artist working to support and build the META program. She previously worked with Marwen in 2017 as a studio facilitator and then became a teaching artist, teaching a range of painting and drawing classes including Marwen Lab until 2020. She developed programming and taught at a range of educational institutions including Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center, Americorps, Chicago High School for The Arts, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Northwestern University. Her passion is raising awareness about gender inequality through the arts in the hopes of making the world a better place for her daughter and future generations.
