Shelf Lives: Ceramic Wall Objects
Explore structure and sentiment with clay by designing a hanging wall display for items of personal significance. Develop a deeper understanding of ceramic craftsmanship and structural hand building. Learn foundational skills and creative surfacing techniques to create a one-of-a-kind, wall-mounted ceramic composition. It could be a shelf, curio cabinet, picture frame, candle votive, hanging shrine, miniature installation, or whatever else you can imagine!

Lu Noel
I’m an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in Chicago. My art currently takes the shape of ceramic objects, installations, and performances. In my work and practice, I seek to expand systems of duality by engaging curiosity and welcoming nuance. Exploring peripheral narratives through color and form, my work finds meaning in instances of loss, love, and the spaces in between.
Teaching is an extension of my creative practice, the exchange through which self-expression and healing are passed down as instruments of resistance and resilience.
