Ready to get in the studio? Here’s where to start:

- If you’ve already taken a class, you’re considered a returning student and can register for new classes online. See registration schedule
- Not quite ready to sign up for classes, but definitely want to learn more? All good. Complete this interest form, and we’ll keep you looped in on all things Marwen!
Marwen’s Student Eligibility Requirements:
- Want to attend and are excited to participate.
- Are committed to attending all 10 course sessions.
- Cannot afford to pay for art classes.
- Live in the city of Chicago.
- Will be in 6-12th grade during the 2026-2027 school year.
Important things to know if you’re new around here:
- New Student Open House & Registration is mandatory for all new students who want to participate in Marwen’s FREE visual arts programs.
- Students under 18 are required to attend orientation with a parent or guardian.
- Be prepared to spend a full 90 minutes at Marwen. (We’ve got snacks, don’t worry.)
- All materials shared during the event will include Spanish translations, and our Spanish-speaking staff will be available on-site and by phone to support registration questions.
- Limited free parking is available in our lot. Public transportation is highly recommended. We’re 2 blocks from the Chicago Brown line station.
Upcoming Open Houses:
At New Student Open House events, Chicago 6-12th graders and their families are invited to tour 3 floors of studios and galleries, meet staff, learn about our free visual arts programs, and register for classes. You’ll explore offerings in photography, graphic design, ceramics, fashion and fiber arts, sculpture, painting, mixed media, 3D modeling, and more! Choose a date that works best for you and your family.
