Built to Inspire Creativity
Marwen started in 1987 with two students in one studio. Nearly four decades later, nearly 16,000 young people have engaged in artmaking, critical thinking, and risk-taking at Marwen.

Our Evolving Building
In 1999, we moved into our current building at 833 N. Orleans Street. In 2015, we expanded the building’s capacity by adding a new floor of studios, allowing us to increase our course offerings and reach even more young people.

Galleries
Every class at Marwen culminates in a public exhibition within our galleries to celebrate the young person, their process, and how they choose to express themselves as an artist.
